Description
Here is a 1:1 balun / 75 coax assembly that can be used to match a 20meter loop antenna toa 50 ohm coax cable. The balun simulates a 75 ohm coax line and is also used to suppress common
currents from your coaxial cable. The 75 ohm coax cable is approximately 8.5 feet in length and is used to
transform your antenna impedance to approximately 50 ohms looking into the end of the cable.
If your loop antenna has a feedpoint impedance of 100 ohms your SWR will be 1.11 at the resonant point of the 20m loop antenna.
If your loop antenna has a feedpoint impedance of 120 ohms your SWR will be 1.06 at the resonant point of the 20m loop antenna.
If you loop antenna has a feedpoint impedance of 150 ohms your SWR will be 1.31 at the resonant point of the 20m loop antenna
It must be stressed that this matching network only works for the 20M band. Photos show the exact assembly
you are bidding on. Photos also show SWR measurements for 100 ohm, 120ohm, and 150 ohm antenna feedpoint simulations. This assembly is an elegant way to transform loop antenna impedances while at the
same time suppressing common mode current with the balun. Please email me with any questions.
