The soldier that owned this book was Phil Baratta, he served 165 Field Artillery and received an honorable discharge in 1945. He was also a member of the U.S. Army Band 44th Division. He played for numerous Hollywood stars and USO Presentations, he was stationed at Fort Lewis in WA then at Fort Ord, CA. The book is in decent condition for it's age, boards are bumped and worn, soiled. Spine is intact but becoming brittle. Pages are foxing, ends more than interior. Page 332 has one small tear and one folded over tear about an inch long and the bottom inside, the page is separated from binding for about 5-3/4". We have not found any other damage to the book other than where the owner placed a paperclip to mark "his page". The paperclip remains in book and will not be removed.
