This manual list all the part numbers for every part of this famous aerial target! The OQ-2A was the first mass produced UAV or drone in the USA!! This is THE manual which provides descriptive,operational and maintenance information for this Antiaircraft Gunnery Trainer. The OQ-2A Trainer was built by the Frankfort Sailplane Company and the Radioplane Company as a gunnery trainer to train antiaircraft gunners. It consisted of a small airplane with a tiny two cylinder lawn mower sized engine( model O-15-1) with contra rotating wooden props which was controlled via radio control and was launched on a catapult and if it wasn't damaged or destroyed recovered by a parachute. This manual covers all aspects of operation, erection and maintenance of the airplane target, power plant, radio equipment, servo unit, catapult and parachute and includes a fully illustrated parts catalog for the catapult! It was in the Radioplane factory in Van Nuys,CA that employee Norma Jeane Dougherty was discovered by a army photographer and she became a Hollywood legend and in turn changed her name to Marilyn Monroe!! Around 15,000 of these were built but manuals for them are nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find!
