Ultra Rare 1945 Fairchild issued Pilot Flight Operating Instructions for the C-82 Packet Transport Airplane, 69 pages SCANNED ON CD FROM MY ORIGINAL MANUAL, NOT FROM A REPRINT OR BOOTLEGGED FROM SOMEONE ELSE!!! A VERY NICE, VERY, VERY RARE wartime manual, and a very Cool aircraft! Pictures on just about every page!!
The C-82 was not the most well known transport during WWII when one thinks of WWII transports, but it was the predecessor to the C-119 Flying Boxcar!! The C-82 came out in the last year of the war, but was able to carry more than the C-47! For those of you who have never seen a C-82, a picture from the manual is attached for you to view. The C-82 looks identical to the C-119, except the C-82 was produced and used in WWII. A very sturdy and powerful aircraft, powered by 2 Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engines, could be used as a (1) cargo carrier, (2) troop or paratroop transport with provisions for aerial delivery of supplies, (3) ambulance airplane, or (4) glider tow. A very important aircraft of WWII and was kept in Air Force inventory through the 60's.
