    Description

    23" (59 cm.) Poured wax shoulder head of adult lady with head slightly inclined sideways,oval face,elongated throat,soft rose-tinted complexion,blue glass eyes,tinted facial features,closed mouth,well-defined ears,soft mohair braided hair in small inserted tendrils,modeled bosom,original softly-stuffed muslin body,poured wax lower arms and legs,bare feet,wearing pantalets. Condition: excellent. Marks: H.M. Aileen Queen of Dollock nee O'Brien,Governess to the Jessamen Family (old ink inscription on front torso). In the Pierrotti manner,circa 1880. Exquisite beauty of the well-preserved portrait with intriguing provenance,ex-collection Legoland Museum of Antique Dolls.
