Description
French Wax Baby Doll Kicking Out Of Papier Mache' Egg is so darling, looks like a real baby with lots of hair which is cute little curls made from mohair, peaking out onto her forehead from under her bonnet. Back of head on the egg shell has a tiny piece of the egg shell taped onto top of egg. It was like that when I bought it 30 yrs. ago. Doll is 5" L x 3" W, of course it's lying on it's back as babies cannot walk yet. This papier mache' egg shell obviously is very fragile, after all, it is over 100 yrs. old. I feel that any cracks in the papier mache' shell look like cracks in any egg shell, once cracked open. The person I bought it from said it was called a, "Candy Box," Doll in France as it came with candy. This is a very RARE piece of doll art. I've been collecting, "Anything Doll." Since I was 10 yrs. old, This is the only one I've ever seen, & I'm 80 yrs. old. Only reason I'm selling is downsizing to move into Senior Living. TheShipped with USPS Priority Mail.
