    Description

Letters 1941-1945 by David Tucker Brown, Jr. U. S. Marine Corps Reserve 9 May 1916-14 May 1945 Killed In Action On Okinawa Shima Ryukyu Islands printed by The William Byrd Press, Inc 1946
These letters were written home by a young Marine Officer in WWII.  Most of the letters were written to his mother, family members, and friends.  The letters follow in chronological order from his arrival at Parris Island, SC in 1941 up to March 31, 1945 - the day before the Okinawa landing.  Also included are letters written by fellow Marines after David Brown's death.  An Addenda gives a brief biography to some of the people who received letters.  These letters are so well written and offer a glimpse into the life and experiences of this WWII soldier.  Hardcover, 105 pages.
This book comes from a private collection - smoke-free home. The cover shows wear, soiling, and fading from age and use.  The pages of the book have browned with age.  Otherwise, the interior is in very good condition with no apparent markings.  The binding is tight and intact.  This is a USED BOOK and sold AS IS.
