Beautifully preserved quack medical device sold by the Montgomery Ward & Company, Chicago, Illinois. Used to practice Electropathic Medicine in the early 1900s. This is the Voltamp Battery No. 10 ("Crown"). Serial Number L318. Two compartments: the one on the left is for the accessories and under the control panel was the battery storage space. Beautiful honey colored finish was restored using several coats of MinWax Satin varnish and hand polished to a soft luster with 0000 steel wool and paste wax. Metal hardware was cleaned and polished. Box is constructed of 3/8" thick solid oak and sides were assembled using finger joints for strength and appearance. Box measures 8" long x 7 3/4 deep x 5 3/4" tall. New green felt covers the bottom of the battery compartment. Original leather carry strap. Rubber feet improve handling and protect bottom. Some accessories and don't know if it works, but should make
a great conversation piece.
