RARE CASED SET of PULVERMACHER HYDRO ELECTRIC CHAINS or BELTS.  These are ANTIQUES and considered a QUACK MEDICAL DEVICE.  On one end of each set of chains is reads " Electricity is life  // Pulvermacher // Galvanic Co. // J. L. Pulvermacher // Patent // Trade Mark // Reg'd // Europe // America".  The tubes appear to be zinc of magnesium, surrounded by copper.  The pair of handles are wood and probably brass.  These type of devices were used from the 1850's until the 1930's to treat a large number of ailments.  We do not know the age of this device.
