Here is a hard to find Class of 1939 United States Naval Academy softcover book "Nine Years After" A personal and professional history since their graduation.It records not only the lives of alumni, but also those that died during the war.
Example of the first graduate Lieutenant Commander Edward Ackerman, commanding officer of the Submarine USS Kete lost on patrol on March 31, 1945 in vicinity of Nansei Shoto, Japanese waters.
