Vintage F.HERDERA SN. 3623 1940 K 98 Bayonet, Leather Frog, And Metal Sheath. Blade is 10", overall length is approx. 15". Mechanism on bayonet is in good used condition "Works Very Good". Blade has scratches and stains from normal use. About 2.5" down from tip there is alot of pitting, probably from moisture at one time. Pictures will show. Knife has some wonderful patina, except where pitting is. Knife has been in storage for many years. Guard and pommel have scratches from normal use, but are in really nice condition for it's age. Scales have scratches and marks from normal use. Bayonet is tight, no loose parts. Bayonet has matching sheath, the numbers match "3623". Also it has the leather frog. Metal sheath has scratches and stains from normal use. Leather frog has a crack in the leather, which goes all the way through, where the stand off goes into the leather cut out, pictures will show. Its not cut all the way through just partially. The stitching, rivets, and belt loop are all in good condition for it's age. Sheath also has scratches, marks, and 2 slits on back, but they do not go all the way through. Pictures will show. Bayonet, Sheath, and leather frog are in good used condition.
