This listing is for an antique medical "quack" electric shock therapy machine in it's original cardboard cloth covered box. The box has front lock snap closure, with gold tone lettering inside: VITAPULSER, Commonwealth Electric and Manufacturing Company, St. Louis, MO. USA. UNTESTED, NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ACTUAL USE. Inside the box is the chrome tone apparatus with bottom cap (battery compartment inside) marked: S.OS. Electric Pulser, Reg. U.S. Pat. Off., Patented April 15, 1913, Commonwealth Electric and Mfg. Co., St. Louis Mo (spring has rust on surface, cap screws on/off nicely). The top neck of the cylinder has incised numbers from 0 though 6 with an adjustable knob which I assume increases/decreases the current. Attached on the top is a dimpled roller bar, and included is a covered cord (for accessories) with metal tip on each end (one for attaching to base and the other for attaching to small sponge pad on a metal plate with a wood tipped handle; OR attaching to a second extra gadget a slender black metal rod with chrome rounded tip and connects to cord through bottom opening hole, rod measures approx. 5" long). Everything is in  good condition, (NO paperwork), instrument with roller measures approx. 7-5/8" long. The box measures approx. 9" BY 3-1/4" BY 2-3/4" high and when packed SECURELY for shipping, the weight is 2 pounds 7 ounces. Please pay close attention to photos for best description of condition, thank you. (13170)
