From 1942-1943, the 1st fought 7 critical battles with names like Tulagi, Rasimboko, the Matanikau River, Dragon's Peninsula in the Solomon Islands and Guadacanal. Here is a collection of personal accounts from Marines who were there--NCO's like Angus Goss, Walter Burak and Anthony "Big Stoop" Palonis.
